Canucks forward Antoine Roussel has been fined $5,000 for biting Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic at the end of Friday night’s game in San Jose, the NHL announced Saturday.
The incident occurred with 40 seconds to play in the game. Roussel and Vlasic got into it in front of the Sharks’ bench and soon were joined by the other players on the ice.

As the linesmen tried to separate the two, Vlasic’s hand pushed against Roussel’s face, and Roussel turned toward Vlasic’s hand and bit it.
The Sharks went on to defeat the Canucks 4-0.
