Redskins quarterback Alex Smith was carted off the field during Sunday’s game against the Texans with a serious leg injury.
Smith was hurt while being sacked in the third quarter. The severity of the injury remains unknown, though onlookers have suggested it could be season-ending.

They’re bringing out the cart for Alex Smith. If you saw the replay, Smith’s ankle is doing a complete 180. Players are coming to the middle of the field with helmets off to see Smith off on the cart. Texans sideline is also coming over to console him

Smith was immediately replaced by Colt McCoy under center.
The Texans hold a 17-7 lead as the third quarter winds down.
