Jimmy Butler had a big home debut in a 76ers uniform Friday, scoring 28 and helping the team to a 113-107 victory over the Jazz.
Afterward, Butler praised his new teammates following his first win in a Philadelphia uniform. And whether his choice of words in a post-game interview was intentional or not, it sure sounded like he threw some shade at his old team, the Timberwolves.
“We did what we’re supposed to do. It’s so fun to win,” Butler told NBCS Philly’s Serena Winters immediately after the game. “It’s so much more fun to play with these guys.”
“I love this group of guys.”

It’s no surprise Butler is happier in Philadelphia than he was in Minnesota — he desperately wanted out of that situation. Butler expounded on his thoughts, and for everything good he said about his new teammates, it’s not hard to infer he felt the opposite about his old T-Wolves teammates.
“Everybody wants to win,” Butler said. “And when somebody messes up, you talk to them, they don’t take it personal and they do their job. I think everybody is such a good basketball player, and we all want to do right, that sometimes we mess up.”
