Eagles CB Ronald Darby out for season with torn ACL

Ronald Darby is done for the year.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson on Monday announced the cornerback will miss the rest of the season after being diagnosed with a torn ACL suffered Sunday against the Cowboys.

Darby injured his right knee on a non-contact play in the third quarter of Philadelphia’s 27-20 home loss and did not return.

The team was already without cornerbacks Jalen Mills (foot) and Sidney Jones (hamstring) entering the game, so the loss of Darby only adds insult to injury.

A second-round selection by the Bills in the 2015 draft before being traded to Philadelphia in Aug. 2017, Darby has 43 combined tackles and an interception this season.

The depleted Eagles (4-5) will face an uphill battle when visiting the surging Saints (8-1) and new acquisition Brandon Marshall in Week 11 action.
