The Jaguars will be without Leonard Fournette for at least another week as he recovers from an injured hamstring, despite optimism their star running back could return against the Texans.
Coach Doug Marrone was “hopeful” Fournette would be healthy for Week 7, but he has been ruled out for Sunday’s matchup and will miss his third consecutive game.

The 23-year-old running back didn’t practice this week, though Marrone said earlier this week they were going to practice Fournette on Thursday and make a decision after that. He did some running and worked off to the side.
Fournette originally hurt his hamstring in the season opener of Jacksonville’s win against the Giants. He missed the team’s next two games with the injury before he returned against the Jets.
T.J. Yeldon will get the start in Fournette’s absence. He had a strong performance in Week 5 against the Chiefs, rushing for 53 yards on 10 carries and made an impact in the passing game with eight receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown.
Jacksonville (3-3) will host Houston (3-3) with kickoff slated for 1 p.m. ET.
