Sam Darnold isn’t the only quarterback on the injury report ahead of this week’s Patriots-Jets game.
New England veteran Tom Brady made a surprise appearance on the team’s injury report Wednesday, making the list for the first time this season.
Brady, who missed time due to injury only in 2008, tweaked his knee on a 6-yard completion to Julian Edelman in the team’s loss to the Titans on Nov. 11. While the injury limited his participation Wednesday, he won’t miss any time and is still expected to play Sunday.

The Patriots should also get a boost with the return of tight end Rob Gronkowski, who has been dealing with ankle and back ailments most of this season. He has 26 catches for 405 yards and a touchdown in six games this season.
Darnold’s status, on the other hand, remains up in the air. The rookie is out of his walking boot two weeks after straining his right foot but was a nonparticipant in practice Monday and Wednesday, as Jets coach Todd Bowles described his status as “day-to-day, week-to-week.”
The Jets (3-7) are slated to host the Patriots (7-3) in an AFC East game at 1 p.m. ET Sunday.
