Ryan Tannehill is ready to make his return.
The Dolphins quarterback will start Sunday’s matchup at Indianapolis after missing the last five games with a right shoulder injury, coach Adam Gase announced Tuesday.
Tannehill, who had not been seen throwing passes since before the team’s Week 6 meeting with the Bears, returned to practice for the first time Tuesday and threw during the portion of the workout that was open to reporters.
Gase noted that Tannehill made “all the throws he needed to make” during practice, according to the Miami Herald.
Miami has gone 2-3 in Tannehill’s absence, with backup Brock Osweiler completing 63 percent of his passes for 1,212 yards, five touchdowns and four interceptions in that time.
The Colts (5-5) are slated to host the Dolphins (5-5) at 4:25 p.m. ET.
