Former Browns coach Hue Jackson will join Bengals’ staff, report says

Hue Jackson appears headed to Cincinnati.

The former Browns coach is set to visit with the Bengals and will soon join Marvin Lewis’ staff, according to a report from NFL Network, which cites unidentified league sources. It is not clear yet what Jackson’s title will be with Cincinnati, the report says.

Jackson was fired by Cleveland in late October after the team opened the season with a 2-5-1 record. He finished with a 3-36-1 record during his two-plus seasons as Cleveland’s head coach.

Jackson has already had two separate stints as a Bengals’ assistant. He served as the team’s wide receivers coach from 2004-06 and then returned to Cincinnati from 2012-15.

The Bengals have registered a 5-4 record in 2018. They fired defensive coordinator Teryl Austin on Monday.
