Patrick Mahomes has etched himself in Chiefs history.
The Kansas City quarterback threw for his 31st touchdown against the Cardinals Sunday, setting the franchise record for most touchdown passes in a single season.

Mahomes’ first touchdown pass of the day to Tyreek Hill tied Len Dawson’s 1964 record of 30 in one season. Mahomes then threw another touchdown pass to Hill in the second quarter to surpass Dawson’s record.

Mahomes, who is in his second year in the league, had his 11th start Sunday. The NFL’s single-season touchdown record is 55, which is held by Peyton Manning in his 2013 season with the Broncos.
