Darren Sproles’ return has been postponed.
The Eagles running back is expected to miss multiple weeks after aggravating his hamstring injury this week, NFL Media reported, citing unidentified sources.
The report noted the team will be cautious not to rush Sproles back until he’s 100 percent and estimated he could be fully healthy in three to four weeks should he avoid further setback.
Sproles initially suffered the injury in practice leading up to the team’s Week 2 matchup and has been sidelined since. He was set to return to the field this week but re-injured his hamstring in practice Wednesday and will now sit out Sunday’s NFC East showdown with the Cowboys.
Sproles, 35, rushed for 10 yards and had 4 receiving yards in his lone game this season against the Falcons.
The Eagles (4-4) are slated to host the Cowboys (3-5) at 8:20 p.m. ET Sunday.
