A.J. Green is slated to visit a foot specialist during the Bengals’ bye week after his toe swelled up.
According to ESPN, the Green Bay, Wisc., specialist will determine the course of action Green needs to take for his toe. It will determine if it’s just a day-to-day problem, or if Green will need surgery.
#Bengals star WR AJ Green was slated to visit foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson in Green Bay during the bye, sources say, as his toe swelled up. Clarity is coming soon, with everything — day-to-day, week-to-week, surgery — on the table for Green. Big appointment.

Green injured his toe during the Bengals’ win over the Buccaneers last week and was seen wearing a precautionary walking boot on the sideline. He originally said he jammed his toe and should be fine, but continual swelling might mean there is more damage.
It would be a tough blow for the Bengals to lose Green, since the team is already without John Ross due to a groin injury.
The specialist will determine if Green will be able to play after the Week 9 bye, when the Bengals host the Saints.
