New Orleans’ secondary will sport a new face Sunday night.
Saints starting cornerback Ken Crawley will be inactive for the team’s game against the Vikings, which will allow new acquisition Eli Apple to start right away, NFL Media reported , citing unidentified sources.
It was not revealed why Crawley was inactive, though New Orleans typically only keeps four cornerbacks active. Crawley’s behind Apple, Marshon Lattimore and P.J. Williams on the depth chart.
The Giants sent Apple to the Saints on Tuesday for a fourth-round draft pick in 2019 and a seventh-round pick in 2020. He has one interception in 30 NFL games.
The Vikings are slated to host the Saints at 8:20 p.m. ET.
