Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is eyeing more than Baltimore’s fifth win when the Baltimore travels to Carolina to face the Panthers on Sunday. He wants to swap jerseys with quarterback Cam Newton.
The Ravens QB has been a longtime fan of Newton and is looking forward to the possible new addition for his man cave.
“I need his jersey after the game. Get that to him,” Jackson said, via ESPN. “I’ll man cave it.”
Newton has also expressed his appreciation and fandom for the No. 32 pick in this year’s draft. The veteran QB said the rookie has “very, very, very exceptional talent” and he’s “been watching him for a long time.”
Jackson, who beat out Robert Griffin III for the backup spot behind starter Joe Flacco in the Ravens’ most recent outing, was flattered by the fellow Heisman winner’s comments.
“That’s my Heisman brother,” Jackson said. “So that’s pretty cool that Cam was talking so highly of me.”
Jackson has run for 103 yards on 20 carries and completed 2 of 6 passes for 29 yards through seven games. He scored his first career NFL touchdown in last weekend’s 24-23 loss to the Saints.
He put that ball in his man cave.
