Broncos quarterback Chad Kelly was arrested early Monday morning, according to a press release from Englewood, Colo., police.
Kelly, 24, was charged with first degree trespassing and booked at the Arapahoe County Jail.
According to the release, police were called to the 3200 block of South Lincoln Street at about 1:15 a.m. local time because a man was standing outside a home. En route to the house, police received another call that the man had entered the home.
The resident then chased the man out of the home, prompting police to search the area. Police later saw a man matching the intruder’s description sitting in a black SUV.
Kelly was identified as the suspect. He was taken into custody without a struggle.
The Broncos released a statement on Kelly’s arrest Tuesday afternoon, saying they were looking into the incident.
“We are disappointed that Chad Kelly was arrested early this morning. Our organization has been in contact with Chad, and we are in the process of gathering more information,” the release said.
Kelly, who was the last player picked in the 2016 draft, hasn’t attempted a pass in the regular season.
