Rishard Matthews is bound for the Big Apple.
The Jets have signed the free-agent wide receiver, ESPN reported Tuesday, citing an unidentified source. Contract terms were not immediately available.
Matthews’ presence should provide New York’s ailing receiving corps with the depth it desperately needs after Quincy Enunwa and Terrelle Pryor went down with injuries. He has 228 catches for 3,147 yards and 21 touchdowns in his seven-year career, including three catches for 11 yards in three games this season.
Matthews, who turned 29 earlier this month, was selected by the Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2012 draft and inked a three-year deal with the Titans in March 2016.
He then signed a one-year extension with Tennessee in August but later requested his release in September. The team granted his request the next day and he has remained on the market since.
