According to earlier reports, the Cowboys were calling around to those who know Cooper to assess him and see if he would be a good fit with the team.
Cooper has been in concussion protocol since Oakland’s loss to the Seahawks last week in London. The Raiders were on a bye for Week 7 and the Cowboys will be on a bye for Week 8, giving the 24-year-old enough time to clear protocol when Dallas takes the field again Nov. 5 against the Titans.
Cooper has just 22 catches for 280 yards and one touchdown in his first six games this season.
