Giants' WR Odell Beckham Jr. addresses criticism of onside kick: 'My heart and my effort can never be questioned'

Odell Beckham Jr. didn’t appreciate the criticism he received in the final minutes of regulation against the Bears.

The Giants wide receiver lined up for an onside kick with just over a minute left before the game eventually went into overtime, where New York went on win 30-27.

Beckham looked as if he was hesitating before diving to the ground for the ball, and Chicago’s Daniel Brown recovered the ball in front of the three-time Pro Bowl player to set up the game-tying touchdown.

“It was a great kick,” Beckham said, via ESPN. “Sometimes, somebody makes a better play that you do. I can dive in there and still not get the ball. It was a very tough call. Nobody should ever question my effort or my heart. That’s the last thing you can do. You can question me as a person, as a man, whatever you want to do. But my heart and my effort can never be questioned. Ever.”

The Giants went on to win their third game in four outings.

Beckham finished with three catches for 35 yards and one touchdown, and also had a passing touchdown in the contest.
