Few things have ever been cooler than Pat Venditte, the former Yankees farmhand who pitches with both arms. Now he’s with the A’s, battling for a roster spot. Look at his glove!
Venditte is the only baseball player who orders his gloves from M.C. Escher. It looks like some sort of Civil War torture device. If you stare at it long enough, you will become certain it’s staring back at you.
It’s an absolute travesty that Venditte hasn’t seen a Major League game yet. Not only has he been good at every minor league level over the past seven seasons, but the existence of a full-blown Major League switch-pitcher would be so incredibly awesome that someone should give the guy a job just for novelty’s sake. People keep wasting roster spots on scrubby backup infielders who can’t hit when meanwhile this dude Venditte throws with both arms.
Just look at that glove!
